ECS has pleasure in announcing the release of the L7VTA mainboard with VIA KT400 chipset.

It is an ATX Socket A (462 pin) board that will support all Athlon XP, Athlon and Duron processors up to 200/ 266 MHz FSB. The board comes with the high performance VIA KT400 chipset that comprises a VIA KT400 North Bridge and VT8235 South Bridge. The chipset includes an integrated USB 2.0 controller that enables a data transfer rate of 480Mbps.

The chipset also provides AC97 Audio Codec and AGP 8X support. LAN, Promise IDE RAID (RAID 0,1) and an IEEE 1394 controller are optional features. Users seeking large memory capacity should be satisfied with the board’s 3 DIMM sockets that accommodate up to 3GB of DDR 333 memory, or up to 2GB of DDR 400 memory.

For overclockers, the L7VTA enables Vcore adjustment via the BIOS. For expansion options, the L7VTA provides 5 PCI slots, an AGP slot and CNR slot. The board also has the suspend-to-RAM function.

There are 4 USB ports, an EPP/ECP parallel port, two 16550 high-speed serial I/O ports, as well as optional LAN and IEEE 1394 connectors.

A range of audio ports is supplied, comprising line-in, line-out, microphone-in, CD-in and game port.. Two PCI IDE interfaces support 4 IDE devices (PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, ATA 66/100).

There are also PS/2 keyboard and mouse connectors. Provision of two independent ATA channels to support another 4 IDE devices is optional.

This board is an excellent choice for any high-end PC, whether for gaming, office or DIY systems. It has been specially designed for users who want a board delivering strong performance, but at an affordable price.
