:arrow: Para saber se o seu Windows XP pode receber a atualização

Clique com o botão da direita do mouse no Meu Computador > Propriedades: se o número apresentado no campo "Registrado para:" tiver XXXXX-640-0000356-23XXX ou XXXXX-640-2001765-23XXX, isso indica que o cd-key utilizado no seu Windows XP é pirata e que possivelmente não vai conseguir instalar o SP2.


:arrow: O SP2 já trás o SP1 incorporado, ou seja, não é necessária a instalação do SP1, caso ainda não tenha efetuado.

2-Problemas após a instalação do Service pack 2

:arrow: Softwares P2P deixam de funcionar após o update

O Service Pack 2 (SP2)instala o Microsoft Windows Firewall, que é atualizado e substitui o Internet Connection Firewall (ICF).Se o Microsoft Windows Firewall estiver bloqueando o serviço ou programa, você pode configurar o firewall para criar exceções e permitir o serviço / programa. O Windows Firewall pode estar bloqueando a requisição se um destes cenários ocorrer:

=Programas não respondem à requisição do servidor
=Programas não recebem dados do servidor

O Windows Firewall Security Alert pode notificá-lo de que o Windows Firewall está bloqueando um programa em particular. Quando isto ocorrer,você poderá desbloquear o programa / serviço escolhendo Unblock this program na caixa de diálogo do Security Alert.

:arrow: Limitação de conexões simultâneas

A Microsoft incluiu no WinXP SP2 uma nova característica de segurança que limita o número de conexões TCP/IP simultâneas para evitar futuras ameaças de ataques por worms como Blaster e Sasser que tipicamente espalharam-se abrindo conexões por endereços randômicos. Porém ao executar programas que requerem muitas conexões como: P2P, navegadores da Web, Clientes de email ou até mesmo Antivírus poderão ficar extremamente lentos além de criar uma entrada no log de eventos como visto abaixo:

Descrição: TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts

What's this EventID 4226?

The EventID 4226 means, that there are to many concurrent TCP connection attempts. A connection attemp is a query to a computer, if it accept the TCP connection or not. If the computer is for example no more existent, it will be waited for a few seconds, until a timeout occurs and the connection attemp get canceled. Since XP SP2 there are only 10 concurrent TCP connection attempts possible, while in SP1 it has not been limited.
O site LvlLord.de descobriu que esta limitação foi implementada diretamente no arquivo tcpip.sys e não através da entrada TcpNumConnections via registro do Windows como imaginava-se (artigo: Q314053).

Para solucionar o problema foi disponibilizado um patch que permite quebrar o limite de 10 conexões TCP/IP simultâneas (o SP1 não possui este limite) para um número maior (50).

:arrow: Mensagem de erro "Data Execution Prevention" após a instalação do Windows XP Service Pack 2

Quando um aplicativo é iniciado e tenta executar código nas regiões de memória que estão marcadas como Data Storage,você receberá esta mensagem de erro:

Se você clicar em OK, seu programa será finalizado,e será mostrado uma janela com as opções de enviar o erro ou não à Microsoft.Clique em Click Here e veja o sdetalhes do erro. Se EventType:BEX aparecer no ítem Error Signature , este é um erro de Software Data Execution Prevention (DEP) relatado à seguir.

A causa

O Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 utiliza o recurso DEP , que previne a execução de códigos das páginas de dados;
Quando uma aplicação tenta executar códigos de uma página de dados marcada, uma exceção ocorre imediatamente e previne o código de ser executado. Este comportamento ocorre para evitar que um ataque de sobre-execução de um buffer de dados ocorra, evitando que o código mailicioso ocorra.

Como resolver
Contate o desenvolvedor do software,ou aguarde um patch de correção.

Contornando o problema
Se nenhum patch de correção estiver disponível,tente o seguinte:
1)Quando o erro ocorrer,clique em Advanced.
2)Na janela Data Execution Prevention , clique em Help protect all programs except.
3)Escolha (clique) no checkbox next to the application, e então em Apply.
Quando lhe for recomendado à reiniciar o sistema,reinicie.

Você também poderá incluir uma exceção à aplicação seguindo os passos abaixo:
1)Clique em Iniciar>Executar (Run) e digite sysdm.cpl,e então OK para abrir o Painel de Controle.
2)Clique na aba Avançado,selecione Performance, e então Settings.
3)na opção Performance Options, clique na aba Data Execution Prevention
4)Clique Turn on DEP for all programs and services except for those I select, e então em Add.
5)Na caixa de diálogo, localize e clique no aplicativo.
6)Clique em Abiri,Aplicar e então OK.Logo em seguida,será necessário reiniciar o sistema.

PS.:este texto ensina como contornar o problema,sendo que pode não funcionar em todos os casos.Um patch de correção é recomendado,caso o aplicativo insista em falhar.

eh possivel acrescentar o SP2 a um cd d instalaçao do WinXP Pro com SP1?
eu mesmo fiz o meu cd com SP1 seguindo as instruçoes q foram postadas aki no forum (como sempre, o forum gdh salvando a minha vida! :mrgreen: ). o procedimento eh o mesmo?

por fim, a pergunta essencial: vale realmente a pena instalar o SP2 ? me lembro q na epoca do SP1 muita gente tinha essa duvida.

Faltou avisar em letras GARRAFAIS que o service pack 2 só pode ser instalado em Windows XP EM INGLÊS. Só depois que baixei 266MB é que percebi que não dava...

Um problema no Service Pack 2 --SP2, pacote de melhorias e correções de segurança lançada há duas semanas para o Windows XP-- pode fazer com que os donos de computadores equipados com processadores da AMD esperem um pouco para atualizar seus sistemas.

Em um artigo divulgado em seu site, a Microsoft diz que o SP2 pode não funcionar em micros equipados com os chips de 64 bits da AMD. Segundo a companhia, os usuários devem evitar totalmente a atualização. A falha atinge tanto os chips da linha Athlon 64 como os da linha Opteron, usados em PCs de mesa e servidores, respectivamente.

A instalação do SP2 nesses computadores pode fazer com que o sistema reinicie repetidamente, de acordo com a Microsoft, tornando o sistema indisponível. O problema também acontece caso o mecanismo DEP, que impede que código seja executado no micro, esteja ativado.

Para os usuários com problema no DEP, é possível contornar o problema, mas nos outros casos a companhia recomenda remover totalmente o SP2 da máquina do usuário, informa o site "ZDNet.com" (www.zdnet.com).

A incompatibilidade com os chips da AMD é a última falha entre uma série de problemas que atingiu o SP2 desde que ele foi lançado pela primeira vez para os fabricantes de PC no começo de agosto. Cerca de 50 aplicativos diferentes deixam de funcionar depois de a atualização ser instalada.

A chance de haver conflitos entre programas antigos com a atualização do Windows XP fez com que empresas adiassem a instalação do SP2 para avaliar quais programas precisam ser reconfigurados ou reescritos para funcionar.

Download Service Pack2 WINDOWS XP PT_BR.

Faz o seguinte,já edita(Service Pack 2-tópico definitivo) este tópico e coloca o link lá em cima .

Fazendo isso eu já tiro esse aqui e pode excluir aquele tópico.

Esse BD do FGDH as vezes dá uma lentidão enorme,estou a 10 minutos tentando editar mas tava dificil.
