Gente o Problema é o seguinte: Instalei o LInux Kurumim 4.0 (Kernel 2.6) em um HD Seagate Barracuda 40 GB, até ai tudo bem.
Tenho Também outra HD Seagate Barracuda Serial Ata 80Gb e o Linux não reconhce. (o duro ´que todos meus arquivos pessoais estão neste hd) A contoloadora da Sata é na Ponte Sul. Driver sys Aparece algo +- assim: Please Patiente ATA 1 is slow respond. Segue ai meus Hardware. Placa mãe : ABIT NF7 S2 Revisão 14 (já tentei com a 10, 11, 12, 13. Por isso acho que não é Bios) Geforce fx 5200 128DDR 768DDr Samsung 400 Athlon XP 2000+ Por favor alguém ajuda ae.

Qual distro instalar em HD SATA ? Acredito que somente o kernel 2.6 que reconhece assim de prima pra poder instalar no HD SATA sem precisar instalar em um PATA depois atualizar o kernel e depois copiar para o SATA...Certo ? Quais distros eu consigo ? Slackware 10 não reconheceu meu HD...(Postei uma vez achando que tinha reconhecido, mas me enganei !)

Olha o Kernel usado é o 2.6.8.1
Não sei se o Driver é Silicom Image ou Sis. Só sei que durante o boot o sistema reconhece pois aparece a seguinte frase. ATA 1 SLOW TO RESPOND. PATIENTE........

Olha gente sou completamente leigo. Estou iniciando agora minha jornada no linux. Não sei o que é Libsata ou dmesg...
Sei algumas coisas apenas. Alias será que o Kurumin é a melhor distribuição para quem estrá iniciando?? O QUE É DMESG?? e OBRIGADO POR ENQUANTO PESSOAL..

seria este file:/proc/scsi/. ai tem uma pasta com o nome sg então fica assim: file:/proc/scsi/sg e dentro desta pasta tem arquivos com estes nomes abaixo

file:/home/kurumin/Downloads neste diretório esta o driver NFORCE-Linux-x86-1.0-0292-pkg1.run, que é o driver Nfoce para linux para placas mães que usasm este driver.
Como faço para instalá-lo. Em que pasta tenho que deixa-lo pra instalá-lo?.. quem sabe instalando ele não resolva alguma coisa.?????

só executá-lo. Para isso, como root: chmod 755 NFORCE-Linux-x86-1.0-0292-pkg1.run
./NFORCE-Linux-x86-1.0-0292-pkg1.run Isso vai fazê-lo executar.

enfim então não tem solução mesmo?
com todos estes dados que passei ainda assim não épossível saber o que está acontecendo? sera que seu eu tentar instalar o slack ou o red hat mudaria alguma coisa? Mas tocando na mesma tecla ele chega a reconhecer o hd pois ele etá instaldo na entrada sata 1. O linux e reconhece mas aparece a seguinte frase. SATA 1 SLOW TO RESPOND. PLEASE PATIENTE........ RECONHECER ELE RECONHECE MAS PORQUE NÃO RESPONDE????????
