Quantas placas de rede tem na sua máquina?
Vamos supor que seja uma, neste caso será eth0 certo?
pelo visto vc já tem o pacote rp-pppoe instalado ok.

FIREWALLING

Type 'adsl-start' to bring up your ADSL link and 'adsl-stop' to bring
it down. Type 'adsl-status' to see the link status.

Caso conecte mas não navega

Verifica se agora está navegando.
#vi /etc/resolv.conf

#ifconfig (para verificar como se encontra sua interface veja sem tem o ppp0 no final )
para deixar o IP da sua placa pegar automaticamente o ip do modem vá em:
#vi /etc/rc.d/rc.modules

Bom tenta ai vamos torcer que tenha sucesso.
para vc conectar na internet automaticamente vc poder colocar ocomando do adsl-start no rc.local.

Caso volte a conectar e não navega descomente as 3 linhas comentadas no rc.local.
